how to knit directions

In this brief article we aim to just give a basic understanding of knitting needles, their sizing and what you need to look out for. In this article, I will attempt to explain some of the basic knitting stitches and everything they encompass.

In securing the previous stitch in a wale, the next stitch can pass through the previous loop either from below or above. Some people prefer circular needles because they are more comfortable to use and you can knit both in the round or back and forth like straight needles. In lace knitting, the pattern is formed by making small, stable holes in the fabric, generally with yarn overs.

Wrap the knitting yarn around the tip of the right knitting needle, crossing over the two needles and hanging once again in front. It can be a humbling experience to the perfectionist. For the first, pass the right needle through the first stitch of your left hand needle.

Good luck with your knitting. Even if you're a pretty proficient knitter, this isn't the time to learn a new technique or work with a skinny fingering-weight yarn that will take forever to knit up.
