how to knit a wrap sweater

Welcome to the wonderful world of knitting! Even if you've been here for a while, there is always something new about this most fascinating craft! When I have spent hours working on knitting a sweater, I want to make sure it looks as good after a dozen washes as it did the day I was knitting it.

The number of rows should be counted when the carrier goes around the cylinder, while knitting. Crochet hooks and a darning needle are often useful in binding off or in joining two knitted pieces edge-to-edge. Different factors may be more significant than others for different knitting projects, so there is no one "best" yarn.

In the more complex double knitting, two or more yarns alternate repeatedly within one row and all the yarns must be carried along the row, as seen in Fair Isle sweaters. For this reason, knitting was initially developed for garments that must be elastic or stretch in response to the wearer's motions, such as socks and hosiery. The local yarn store will often provide assistance if you are having trouble with your pattern, regardless of whether you purchased your knitting supplies from them or a competitor.

A circular needle resembles two short knitting needles connected by a cable between them. Double-pointed knitting needles usually come in sets of four (US size 1, on right) or five (US size 8, on left).

Most new knitters should start with some of the basic patterns listed above and work on mastering basic stitches. You may also want to consider finding a local knitting group or meeting online others who share your hobby.
