Posted here are some easy knitting instructions for beginners. Knitting consists of loops called stitches pulled through each other.
The thread used in weaving is usually much finer than the yarn used in knitting, which can make the knitted fabric bulkier and have less drape than a woven fabric. In general, yarns become stronger with more twist (also called worst), longer fibers and thicker yarns (more fibers); for example, thinner yarns require more twist than do thicker yarns to resist breaking under tension. I learned a lot from a great book I discovered a while back.
Circular needles are typically 24-60 inches long, and are usually used singly or in pairs; again, the width of the knitted piece may be significantly longer than the length of the circular needle. You can also knit mittens, scarves using the sock-knitting machine. Short and tall stitches may also alternate within a row, forming a fish-like oval pattern.
Brainstorm, and figure out which way of teaching would be best for you and your students! These few basic knitting instructions are the foundation of any project you will ever knit.
