Posted here are some easy knitting instructions for beginners. Knitting is worked in rounds (the equivalent of rows in flat knitting) in a spiral.
The first step is to setup a basket or bonnet which makes the needles move continuously. These are all good choices for that very first project. Other tools are used to prepare yarn for knitting, to measure and design knitted garments, or to make knitting easier or more comfortable.
A third but less common method, called combination knitting, may also be used. Thus, a simple way to change gauge is to use different needles, which is the basis of uneven knitting. It differentiates your work from anyone else's that might be knit from the same pattern.
To do a yarn-over after a knit stitch, just bring your yarn across your work from the back to the front. Exercise is great, yet, doing something for your soul, is just as important.
